During standard drop testing, rifles and shotguns will freely slide between the convoluted foam layers. Even heavy-duty metal cases cannot provide enough compression to secure long guns in place unless custom fitted. THE SOLUTION You can quickly assemble a custom-fitted shipping container, totally enveloping the gun in protective heavy-duty polyethylene foam. The foam is 1.7 lb polyethylene (plastic) foam, commonly used for pool noodles. This material holds the gun more securely, is easier to cut with hand tools,and will NOT crack or crumble.
