BEFORE PACKING THE BLOOD SPECIMENS: Freeze TWO (2) of the gel packs OVERNIGHT. They should be laid flat and frozen solid.
If outside daytime temperatures exceed 50 degrees Fahrenheit: REFRIGERATE the remaining TWO (2) gel packs.

If outside daytime temperatures are below 50 degrees Fahrenheit: Allow the remaining TWO (2) gel packs to reach room temperature (68-73 degrees Fahrenheit).

Blood draw vials should be kept in the absorbent-lined plastic shipping tubes after blood draw.

Place blood specimens in the FRONT of a refrigerator until just before shipping time.

Place one frozen gel in the bottom of cooler. Put refrigerated or room-temp gel in a small 7x5x4 box. Lay blood draw vials on top of the gel, then cover with remaining refrigerated or room temp gel. Close small box lid and place it inside the cooler. Place remaining frozen gel on top, cover with foam or bubble wrap, and place lid on cooler. Close outer box.
